BRIEF: To provide preliminary due diligence through to planning approvals for large scale solar energy facilities.

In 2008 this involved a planning scheme amendment, significant negotiation with state government, and well delivered community consultation programs. Provincial Matters was integral in achieving the first solar test facility now located in Bridgewater, Victoria, and approvals for large scale solar energy facilities in the north of the state.

Today we continue to work with the solar sector to achieve planning approvals for small, medium and large scale solar energy facilities in places where the sun shines.

Industrial - Ballarat

BRIEF: To protect the interests of a large scale expanding industrial operation.

Planning advice, negotiations and representation at a range of forums to represent the planning interests of a large scale and expanding industrial business.

BRIEF: To provide the framework and template for the preparation of Regional Growth Plans across the state.

We undertook extensive cross government consultation, as well as strategic thinking to develop the framework and template for the preparation of Victoria's Regional Growth Plans.

Climate Change - Loddon Mallee South Region


Group of 6 Councils (then Department of Sustainability and Environment)

BRIEF: To review and summarise relevant information relating to climate change resilience in the Southern Loddon Mallee region including Macedon Ranges Shire, Mt Alexander Shire, City of Greater Bendigo, Central Goldfields Shire, and Buloke Shire Councils.

Provincial Matters worked with the steering committee to prepare a document to help both the committee and stakeholders in the region to understand what information already exists, and developed a methodology and project brief to be used for future work.

Regional Growth Plan - Loddon Mallee South


Southern Loddon Mallee Group of CEOs/ Department of Planning and Community Development (now DTPLI)

BRIEF: To prepare the Southern Loddon Mallee Regional Growth Plan.

Conducted over a 12 month period, this project, involved research into a variety of land use, environmental, agricultural, tourism and planning strategies relevant to the region. We designed and conducted workshop and engagement strategies with relevant local and state Government and agency representatives in order to inform and prepare the final draft plan.
